Appen Data Technology (Shanghai) Co. Ltd.on behalf of itself and its affiliates (“We”or “Appen”) respect your privacy or the privacy of the organization you represented on (“End User” or “You”) and are committed to protecting it. Your privacy is important to us.

The purpose for which the cookie is used is for identification of a specific session on our website e.g. when a user is logged on to the website to identify what permissions they have and what items are in their shopping cart. “Personal Information” is any information that can be used to identify you or that we can link to you. When you download, install or use the Application, Appen may use automatic means (including, for example, cookies and web beacons) to collect information about your Device and about your use of the Application. You also may be required to provide certain information about yourself as a condition to downloading, installing or using the Application or certain of its features or functionality, and the Application may provide you with opportunities to share information about yourself with others.

When you use handwriting (or signature) tasks, we will get an orientation sensor to adjust the screen rotation direction to fit your model.

We follow the principles of personal information minimization and purpose limitation, and only collect and use the minimum personal information necessary to provide Services. We will not collect and use unique device identifiers unless it is necessary to use the Services, and prefer to use other resettable and deactivable device identifiers.

We sometimes collect anonymous information from visits to an Application and a Site to help us provide better customer service. For example, we measure visitor activity on the Sites, but we do so in ways that keeps the information anonymous. We use the information that we collect to measure the number of visitors to the different areas of our Sites, and to help us make our Sites more useful to visitors. This includes analysing these logs periodically to measure the traffic through our servers, the number of pages visited and the level of demand for pages and topics of interest. None of the information constituted in such logs will include or constitute personal information and such logs may be preserved indefinitely and used at any time and in any way to prevent security breaches and to ensure the integrity of the data on our servers.
